Mark W Morris

Mark has over 25 years research and specialist consultancy expertise in the field of flood risk analysis, flood risk management and emergency management.  He has worked on a variety of projects developing tools and solutions to support effective flood risk management solutions.  Mark has specialist knowledge of dambreak analysis, breach prediction for dams and levees and risk analysis techniques, applied to reservoir safety, levee performance and flood risk in general.

Mark has worked widely at an international level, with projects in many regions of the globe.  He has considerable experience in flood and water related research at a European level, having coordinated and participated in European research projects under Framework programmes 4, 5, 6 and 7.  Mark is now actively participating in activities relating to the new European Horizon 2020 programme.  Mark has also advised the UK government on issues relating to reservoir safety and participated in initiatives promoted by the US Army Corps of Engineers and US Bureau of Reclamation.

In addition to project research and consultancy, Mark is a member of the UK Reservoir Safety Advisory Group (RSAG) and acts as a reviewer for various publications.  A more detailed CV can be accessed here.
